Weekday Tinkering Workshop

A 90-minute tinkering workshop on a weekday, arranged around your visit — ages 4 to 15. The same hands-on session as the Saturday class: taking apart, building, inventing, with materials that began as offcuts, packaging and cans. Well suited to families spending a few days in Tokyo who want their child in a Japanese-speaking room, doing something with their hands. The studio's regular weekday dates are the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Mondays and Tuesdays can also be opened, arranged date by date — request the day that suits your trip and the studio will confirm it. Led in Japanese, three children per session.

• checkOn a first visit for a child under primary-school age, a parent waits in the waiting area rather than leaving. Once your child has settled in, drop-off is fine.
• checkFrom primary-school age, drop-off is fine from the first session.
• checkEither way, please stay in the Kichijoji area for the duration of the session, in case of an emergency.
