Notice based on the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions

Sale price

The provider's price shown on each program page, plus the service fee shown beside it. The exact total, consumption tax included, is shown at checkout before you pay.

Additional charges

All charges are shown before you book, including any travel fee for care at your home or where you are staying. Where the provider confirms an amount after booking — a travel fee set by distance, or a fee shown as “up to” — you are shown the most it can be, and you are never charged more. An optional paid extension and a late-pickup fee may apply where requested or incurred, each based on the provider's own hourly rate for that program (the late-pickup fee at 1.5× that rate, prorated per minute from the scheduled pickup time, or for care at your home, from the booked end time), as set out in the Terms of Service. Where a provider shows a small-costs limit before you book, it may charge small costs it paid for your child during the booking, up to that limit, with the receipt, without asking you first. Any other charge is made only if you accept it. Customers are responsible for their own data/communication costs.

Payment methods

Credit card, processed via Stripe, Inc. A small number of providers are paid in cash instead: where a program is one of these, its booking screen says so before you book, no card is charged or held at any point, and you pay the provider directly at their premises on the day.

Payment timing

The card is saved at the time of booking submission; nothing is charged or held at that point. The charge is made when the free-cancellation window closes — the provider's cancellation cutoff before the booked drop-off time: 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days depending on the provider (24 hours unless the provider has set a longer cutoff). For bookings of multiple days: consecutive days — and an overnight or multi-night stay, counted in nights — form one continuous run, charged as a single charge at that cutoff before the run's first drop-off; non-consecutive days are independent bookings, each charged separately at that cutoff before that day's drop-off.

Where a booking falls inside the provider's request window — less than 48 hours before drop-off for a provider in review mode, less than 24 hours for a provider in instant mode — the booking is submitted as a request to the provider. The card is saved but not charged; the charge is made at the moment the provider accepts the request. A temporary hold may be placed on your card when you submit the request; it is captured only if the provider accepts, and released otherwise. If the provider declines or does not respond within the response window, nothing is charged.

Discounts, rewards, and gifts

Referral rewards and discounts have no cash value and reduce the amount payable for a booking. The full program terms are in our Terms of Service.

A provider may also offer a reduced price to families who live in Japan. Where it applies to you, it is applied automatically and shown on your checkout breakdown as Local price, and the amount shown there is the amount payable.

A purchased gift holds no stored value and is charged only on use: the gift-giver's card is charged when the recipient applies the gift to a qualifying booking, on the same schedule as that booking. If the gift-giver's card cannot be charged, the recipient may complete the booking by paying themselves.

Service delivery timing

On the date and time selected at booking, at the provider's premises — or, for care at your home or where you are staying, at the address you give.

Cancellation and refunds

Free cancellation up to the provider's cancellation cutoff before the program start time — 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days depending on the provider (24 hours unless the provider has set a longer cutoff); a continuous run of consecutive booked days (including an overnight or multi-night stay) cancels only as a whole, up to that same cutoff before the run's first day. After that, no refund is available, including for illness or other unforeseen circumstances. We recommend that traveling families carry travel insurance to cover such cases.

If our partner provider determines at drop-off that your child is unwell — for example, fever of 37.5°C or above, vomiting, or suspected contagious symptoms (e.g. visible rash, head lice), etc. — the booking is treated in the same way as a late cancellation: non-refundable, with the provider paid in full. We recommend that traveling families carry travel insurance to cover such cases. If the provider declines drop-off because your child cannot be safely settled into the group, that day is refunded to you in full. If your child is accepted but cannot safely remain during the visit and the provider asks for an early pickup, the unused time is not refunded.

For a babysitter or tour guide booking, a visit that takes place is not refunded because of how it went.
