Michikusa Children's Art & Craft
About
A children's drawing and sculpture studio in a 100-year-old farmhouse beside a bamboo grove. The class is built around four words — feel, think, draw, make. Children choose their own subject and materials, working with reclaimed and natural materials. There is no single correct answer in drawing or making, so rather than drilling technique, the studio cares about the process and about each child's confidence in their own way of expressing things. Run by Hiroko Kuwata (illustrator and licensed childcare worker) and Kayo Sakamoto (certified psychologist and licensed childcare worker). Parking is available.

FAQ
Where do you go in an emergency?
Children and staff move to a nearby safe site — Myoodai Elementary School ground.
Do you take photos of the children?
We sometimes post photos of the class on social media and our website. We take care that your child's face cannot be identified — shot from behind, or close up on their hands.
