Kōjōkaikan Karate
About
Kōjōkaikan is a family karate dojo in Chiba’s Mihama ward, led by Nobuyuki Nakai — a 3rd-dan instructor with 52 years in the art. Its heart is “parent-and-child karate” (親子空手): mothers, fathers, and children train side by side, building posture, focus, and quiet confidence together rather than chasing wins. Practice is warm and unhurried, in traditional Wadō-ryū style, at school gyms on weekends. Visiting and relocating families are genuinely welcome to step onto the floor and share an hour of real Japanese karate with local families.
Good to know
If someone is hurt — Medical costs are the family's own, so please check that your travel insurance covers a martial-arts session — some policies do not. If anything happens, we take you to a medical facility ourselves.
